INTRODUCTION |
|

POWER TEAM is a world leader in hydraulic special service tools and equipment for
motor vehicle and industrial markets. We manufacture precision quality high-pressure
hydraulic products which include pumps, cylinders, valves, clamping components,
related hydraulic accessories, and special tools and equipment. Products are marketed
under the POWER TEAM and Hytec brand names and sold through a worldwide network
of stocking industrial distributors. Service is available throughout the world at
authorized POWER TEAM Hydraulic Service Centers.
These precision quality products are used wherever strong, concentrated force is required. The markets for our products
include manufacturing, construction, motor vehicle, mining, utilities, shipyards,
rescue operations and many more.

HISTORY |

|
POWER TEAM began as a part of the Owatonna Tool Company also known as OTC, which
was founded in 1925 on the strength of a patented mechanical gear puller.
By the 1950's, as the applications for these pullers grew in size, customers needed more
than just manual power to operate them, so we started making pullers with hydraulic
power. This was the start of the POWER TEAM product line.
Over time we expanded our line of standard hydraulic products and sold them through a network of automotive
and industrial distributors. In addition, we've developed special hydraulic products
for a number of original equipment manufacturers who incorporate our product into
theirs. We also developed a line of precision hydraulic workholding products sold
under the brand name of Hytec.
In 1985 the SPX Corporation acquired OTC. Based on solid growth POWER TEAM became a separate operating unit of SPX in 1988.
POWER TEAM grew to need a new facility in 1989. It was then that
we built and moved into our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Owatonna,
Minnesota.
International growth of POWER TEAM products continued and in 2001 POWER TEAM moved to our current
manufacturing facility in Rockford, Illinois. The Rockford manufacturing facility also serves
as corporate headquarters for SPX FLUID POWER and serves as manufacturing base for our
Stone (AC/DC Hydraulic Power Units), Hytec (Work Holding Products) and Globe (Radial Pnuematic Piston Motors).
